9 migrant workers injured in Bengaluru cylinder blast

Bengaluru, 23 July


Nine migrant workers from West Bengal were injured in a suspected LPG cylinder blast at a paying guest accommodation here on Thursday, police said.


The incident occurred at a PG in Bommasandra, under the limits of Hebbagodi Police Station, when the workers, employed with an engineering company here, had just woken up.


Police said all nine workers who were staying in the room at the time of the incident hail from West Bengal.


Among the injured, six sustained more than 60 per cent burn injuries and were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chandapura here.


Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause and sequence of the incident.
